Craft Crush: Ever After 2016

Have you missed me?  I can’t believe it’s been three weeks since I’ve posted here at Artful Geek Girl.  As you know, I’m an online technology geek by day and the past three weeks have been filled with three time sensitive client projects.  Sadly, my artful side has to take a back seat to the money making side sometimes. Otherwise how am I going to pay for cool art supplies?

Speaking of art, my latest craft crush isn’t really a craft crush at all. It’s an upcoming mixed media art course called Ever After offered by Tamara Laporte of Willowing Arts. She explains the course as:

“…a fantastic offer to those who are interested in learning how to make beautiful mixed media paintings inspired by traditional fairy-tales and myths and it has a very attractive curriculum for those interested in the hows and whats of style development.”

There is so much that is cool about this course that I don’t know where to start; but here goes:

I signed up for both modules and can’t wait for July 1st to get here.

I know what you’re probably saying.

“I wish I could draw, but I can’t.”

Surprise!  I bet you can!

I was pretty sure I couldn’t either. But as part of Journal 52 I was so envious of the people that added those beautiful whimsical faces to their pages.  I began doodling a little, then checking out whimsical art online and on YouTube and finally I found a link to Tamara via Effy Wild and decided to plunge in!  I was totally shocked by the progress I made is a short period of time.

I never considered myself the type of artist that could draw anything but after taking that first course I believe anyone can learn!  And if you’re a lover of all things fairy tale like I am, Ever After might just be the thing that sets you on your way!
