DIY Printed Tissue Paper

As a mixed media artist, I love printed tissue paper. Not only is it an easy starting point, taking away the fear of the blank page, it can also be a great texture and visual element to anchor your artwork.  I recently purchased a roll of Tim Holtz’s Melange tissue wrap, which I absolutely love, but at the moment I only have one design. Sometimes my artwork simply calls for something a little different and when that is the case I make my own with rubber stamps that I already own.

Here’s the video tutorial showing just how easy it is to create your own unique printed tissue paper designs.

I mentioned a couple of things in the video, a tutorial by Tim Holtz on his Reflections stamps and a set of Tim’s clear rubber stamps that I find myself using a lot.  The coolest thing about creating your own printed tissue paper is that no one else is going to have the exact same design and you get to use your rubber stamps for yet another creative project which is always a good thing.

I hope you enjoyed the video.  It was rather challenging with my tiny crafting set up, but I know I love watching ‘how to’ videos so I really want to start including more here on the blog.
